You can now own a piece of Star Wars history, including Chewbacca’s bowcaster

An upcoming auction of movie props includes some amazing Star Wars lots, including an X-Wing model, C-3PO’s left foot, and the bowcaster that Chewbacca used in the first three movies.

It’s not often you get a chance to own a piece of movie history, but Propstore’s upcoming ‘Entertainment Memorabilia Live Auction’ is giving films fans just that opportunity.

Rare and screen-used items from the likes of theJurassic Park,Harry Potter, andStar Warsmovies are going under the hammer, with more than 1,300 props available.

The auction runs from March 25-28, 2025, and while it takes place in Los Angeles, you’re able to also bid online for the items, which include some Star Wars gems.

Lot 358in the Propstore Auction is Chewbacca’s “photo-matched bowcaster with restored dressing components.”

The guide book describes it as “the one and only crossbow used as Chewie’s bowcaster across all three films; there is no evidence of a second or back-up prop.” For completists, it’s also the weapon that Chewbacca brandished in the infamous Star Wars Holiday Special.

But the item isn’t cheap, with bids starting at $125,000, and the prop expected to sell for somewhere between $250,000 and $500,000.

Other Star Wars items being auctioned include a page of George Lucas’s handwritten story development notes, an X-Wing reference model, andC-3PO’s left foot– as worn by Anthony Daniels – from The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.

Jurassic Park and Harry Potter items up-for-grabs

There’s more blockbuster memorabilia available in the auction, including Jurassic Park items like thelicense plate from John Hammond’s Jeepin the first movie, Dr. Alan Grant’s shirt from Jurassic Park III, and an Indominus Rex tooth from Jurassic World.
