After several seasons of wild twists and near-apocalypses, Netflix’s hit comic book adaptation will come to a close with its upcoming fourth season. Accompanied to the tune of “The Final Countdown,” the trailer sees the siblings navigating this new timeline with their usual brand of chaos and bickering while understanding the importance of their familial bonds. Despite the loss of their powers, there are also shots of an orange glow bursting from the hands of Viktor Hargreeves (Elliot Page) and Ben Hargreeves (Justin H. Min) using his tentacles.
What The Umbrella Academy’s Trailer Teases For Season 4
Beginning the trailer with season 1 dialogue from Reginald Hagreeves (Colm Feore) makes it clear that the final season will have strong ties to the beginning of the series, and may even come full-circle in certain respects.The Umbrella Academyseason 3 endingseemingly gave Reginald what he wanted with a timeline where he and Abigail Hargreeves (Liisa Repo-Martell) are both alive, along with placing him in a powerful position over the new timeline. The imposing shots of him in the trailer support that, withReginald potentially being the villain who the siblings have to overcome in their last outing.
The Umbrella Academy: 20 Times A Character Returned After Their Death
The Umbrella Academy has many deaths and many resurrections, which can be hard to make sense of between alternate timelines, flashbacks, and Klaus.
Confronting the cunning and manipulative Reginald at full strength would be challenging, and is made even more daunting without their powers. Considering all the childhood trauma and pain that Reginald inflicted on the children, and that many of the siblings are still struggling with this history, Reginald seems like a fitting choice for their last major foe. The shots of Elliot and Ben using powers confirm thatat least some of the siblings will regain their abilities during the final season, although it will be intriguing to see when and how this occurs in their conflict with Reginald.
Presumably, before regaining their powers,the siblings will be undertaking a rescue mission, as mentioned byAllison Hargreeves (Emmy Raver-Lampman). Perhaps they will be trying to rescue Abigail from Reginald, as this could be the key to fixing things. The teaser trailer does well at recapturing the Hargreeves' endearing and frenzied chemistry and hinting at important details without giving away major plot points forThe Umbrella Academy’s final season.
