Summary

Two of the stars ofSuitshave weighed in on the possibility of a reunion movie. The USA Network legal drama, which starred Gabriel Macht, Patrick J. Adams, Meghan Markle, Sarah Rafferty, and more, ran for nine seasons between 2011 and 2019. It became a record-breaking streaming hit in 2023 when the first eight seasons dropped on Netflix alongside the full show being available on Peacock. Because of this success, rumors about a possibleSuitsrevivalhave swirled over the past few months.

PerDeadline, theSuitscast was asked about the possibility of a reunion movie during a Q&A at a panel at ATX. Adams said that creator Aaron Korsh is “interested in doing” a project along those lines, saying thathe would also be interested in returning for such a reunion. A Medium Shot of Dulé Hill as Alex on Suits

Patrick J. Adams:It’s definitely something [creator Aaron Korsh] is interested in doing, trying to get the band back together. It’s gonna depend on a million things if that can happen, but is it possible.

Dulé Hill:I’ll say as a fan of USA shows becoming films, I would definitely like to be doing another one.

Could A Suits Movie Actually Happen?

Suits’ Streaming Success Could Open Many Doors

It remains to be seen if theSuitscastreunites for a proper follow-up, whether it is a movie or a television show. However, there are several factors pointing to a high likelihood of something like the possible follow-up movie being able to happen. For one thing, manyoriginal cast members have shown a willingness to reunite. In addition to the ATX event, recent commercials have featured multiple cast members from the show, with Adams and Macht promoting T-Mobile while Rafferty, Gina Torres, and Rick Hoffman all appeared together in an e.l.f. commercial.

One major hurdle to a fullSuitsreunion is the fact that Markle quit acting when she married Prince Harry in 2018, leaving the show after season 7.

It has also been relatively common for follow-up movies to USA Network shows to be mounted in recent years. In addition to a trio ofPsychmovies between 2017 and 2021, aMonkfollow-up movie titledMr. Monk’s Last Casepremiered in 2023. It ispossible thatSuitscould follow suit and spawn a movieor even a franchise of movies, though the latter possibility is much less common for movie sequels to television shows.

The most likely hurdle to a movie coming together reasonably quickly, beyond Markle’s absence, would likely be the fact that theSuitsNetflix successhas already inspired a follow-up. A spinoff titledSuits: L.A., which stars Stephen Amell, has already had a pilot ordered at NBC. While it remains to be seen if the show is picked up to series, if it does, it seems likely that a movie may be delayed so as not to compete with the new project.
