New Lapras Ex Card For Pokémon TCG: Stellar Miracle Mixes Beauty With Power
The Card May Be A Game-Changer In Certain Decks
While the artwork alone is outstanding, another aspect of the Lapras ex card is noteworthy. The translation provided byPokébeachallows players to get a better idea of how the card will work in decks and, based on its described moves, it has the potential to be a game-changer. As a Tera Pokémon,Lapras ex will be unable to sustain any damage from attacks while it remains on the bench. Its first move, called Power Splash, deals 40x damage – with 40 damage for each Energy attached to it inPokémon TCGmatches.
Its second and most powerful move, called Larimar Rain, allows the player tolook at the top 20 cards of their deck and attach any number of Energy cards they find to their own Pokémon in any way they want. This can be just enough to power up Lapras’ Power Splash to deal game-breaking damage to an opponent’s Active Pokémon. Of course, this is a big set up and the opponent could have the time and methods to counter such a strategy. If they are unable, the Lapras ex fromPokémon TCG: Stellar Miraclecan effectively close matches.

Alternatively, players can also spread out the Energy they get from the 20 cards the way they prefer and, if they are lucky enough to pull a large quantity of Energy cards, they can set up their entire board of Pokémon and leave the opponent thinking about what strategy they need to counter. This could prove to be even more effective than having Lapras ex attack.

This special Energy tutor is fairly strong since players can use this move any number of times per match without having to discard any Energy doing so. For now,it is still fairly early to tell exactly how Lapras ex and these new Stellar-themed Pokémon ex cards will fit the meta, especially with the varying types of Energy requirements.
It is also worth noting that the ability does not say “Basic Energy,” meaning that among those 20 cards, players can also use attach Special Energy to their Pokémon.
Nevertheless, this is an indisputably strong search mechanic and it can turn the tides of a battle. There is a chance that Lapras ex will be adapted into theStellar Crownexpansion forPokémon TCGin September, and there may even be a Special Illustration Rare version of the card in the two sets.
