New Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom exploit lets Switch 2 players summon almost anything

Tears of the Kingdom players onSwitch 2have discovered an exploit that allows them to summon almost any in-game item, object, or character, and the results are hilarious.

The Nintendo Switch 2 version ofZelda: Tears of the Kingdomallows players to share and download custom creations via the Autobuild Sharing feature. Whether you want to find the best airship to fly around Hyrule on, or a snazzy mech you may use to destroy Bokoblin camps, then all you need to do is scan a QR code, and it will be added to your game.

Autobuilding sharing removes a lot of the legwork that goes into creating Ultrahand vehicles, and can save you a tremendous amount of time. However, thanks to a new exploit, TotK players have been sharing more than hover bikes.

Posting on the Tears of the Kingdom Reddit page, one usershared screenshots of multiple Ganondorfs and a whole herd of Eponas. Another post from the Can You Pet The Dog X account showed Link running through a field of cute canines.

As the post outlines, no modding or cheats are involved, as players can simply summon both friend and foe by locating the necessary QR code. As for how it works, one fan gave the following explanation over on theTears of the Kingdom Reddit page.

“The autobuild editing website for those with access to their save files lets you change which actors are used, including any generally ineligible actor. Inject it into a modded switch, perform local save transfer to unmodded switch, then another save transfer to Switch 2 edition, and voila, modded autobuild.”

The player notes that they were surprised to find that Nintendo hasn’t built in any Autobuild Sharing verification, especially considering weapons with illegal modifiers are banned. I guess Nintendo didn’t anticipate the community spawning in hundreds of dogs, or a few Ganondorfs to chill with.

Whether Nintendo will crack down on this exploit remains to be seen, but for now, you can summon almost anything to your heart’s content.
