Tippet, who plays Tim, an overzealous Monarch officer, shares that he’s happy to be back in the new season. Black also teases being excited to continue the story afterthe reveal ofKong in the finale. Clemons: I just want to play. I would love to be in disguises or something. That’s what I think of before I go to bed. I’m not even kidding. I talk to our people, and I’m like, “What if she was a spy of sorts?”
Sawai: I hope that Cate has a little bit more agency because in season 1, she’s so lost. She’s running away from everything. She’s asking questions, but not really getting answers. I think that now that she knows about the underworld and what her family legacy is, I hope that she’s taking a little bit more action.
Tippett: I’m just glad that they’re having me back. I’m happy to get to work with these guys more. I can’t wait for it.
Black: I think our friends from Apple are here, so I’m not sure what I’m allowed to say. But it’s going to be big. It’s going to be great. We’re really excited and just so thrilled to have the opportunity to come back and keep telling this story. What To Expect From Monarch: Legacy Of Monsters Season 2
Kong Will Likely Be Heavily Featured
It didn’t come as much of a surprise when AppleTV+ announced back in April thatMonarch: Legacy Of Monstershad been renewed for season 2. The show was a hit for the streamer and was well-reviewed, receiving an89% on Rotten Tomatoes. This, coupled with the inconclusiveMonarchseason 1 endingand the positive reviews that the entire season received, there was always a lot of hope that season 2 would return sooner rather than later.
The ending of season 1 placed some of the show’s main characters on Skull Island with the giant ape making a brief cameo, so there’s strong reason to believe he could be crucial to season 2.
With season 2 confirmed, it is expected that most of the main characters from season 1 will return for this new season. This includes Cate Randa (Anna Sawai), May (Kiersey Clemons), Kentaro (Ren Watabe), Keiko (Mari Yamamoto), Bill Randa (Anders Holm), Tim (Joe Tippett), Duvall (Elisa Lasowski) andpossibly Kurt Russell’s Wyatt as his fate after his sacrifice is unknown. The show may be able to bring back more characters if season 2 continues the story being told in different time periods.

As regards the storyline for season 2, nothing concrete has been confirmed as of the time of writing. However, there are speculations thatMonarch: Legacy Of Monsterscould redirect its focus on Monsterverse’s other titanic figure, Kong. The ending of season 1 placed some of the show’s main characters on Skull Island with the giant ape making a brief cameo, so there’s strong reason to believe he could be crucial to season 2.
