Summary

Balance among all the gangs of Kingstown was always one of the objectives for Mike McLusky’s work as mayor, but one new unexpected partnership inMayor of Kingstownseason 3 can make his job more difficult and tip the scales in favor of one gang in particular. If inheriting the informal role of mayor from his late brother was already challenging for Mike inMayor of Kingstownseason 1’s beginning, the prison riots made everything more difficult, as violence permeated any interaction between officers and prisoners, during the riots and in their aftermath, bringing even more chaos into Kingstown.

The power imbalance became more evident inMayor of Kingstownseason 2 after Mike’s plan to install the gang leaders in Anchor Bay to sort out their groups worked. Although the plan was to trick the major gang leaders into making a deal with the DA, freeing them all once order was achieved inside and outside,Mayor of Kingstownseason 2 only saw Bunny Washington out of prison, proving solely the Crips truly benefited from the deal.Mayor of Kingstownseason 3’s surprise partnership can greatly hinder Bunny’s plans, letting another gang take over the Crips as the most powerful.

AB Struggled After Duke’s Death & The Hit On Mike Made Things Even Worse

Mayor of Kingstownseason 3, episode 3 didn’t explain why Konstantin specifically singled out Callahan among all gang leaders as the one on whom to bestow his favor, but the episode heavily hinted at their partnership going forward. Indeed, Konstantin was the first to contactMayor of Kingstownseason 3’s new major player Callahan, sending one of his girls to visit him in prison. While the visit was unexpected,Callahan showed he appreciated the gesture, taking Konstantin’s personal phone numberand following Konstantin’s underling outside, hinting that a collaboration between the mobster and the gang leader will come to fruition.

Ever since Mike killed Duke inMayor of Kingstownseason 1, the Aryan Brotherhood has been without a local leader in Kingstown. WhileMayor of Kingstownseason 2 saw Gunner rise through the ranks to represent AB in the gangs’ deal with the DA, he was never local to Kingstown and would have returned to Grand Rapids had he not been killed by the end ofMayor of Kingstownseason 3, episode 2. However,Gunner’s violent death at Callahan’s hands and Callahan’s name being high-profile in Kingstown introduced him as the new AB leader set to revolutionize the gang’s position.

Between Callahan’s standing among AB members and Konstantin’s evident wish to branch out to other ventures beyond Milo’s in Kingstown,Konstantin and Callahan’s alliance could not only give AB back the power it lost after Duke’s death but also expand it. Konstantin & Callahan’s Joint Venture Hurts Even More Of Bunny’s Deals

Bunny’s Contaminated Drugs Already Caused The Crips Problems In Season 3

The most likely foe to defeat would be Bunny Washington. The leader of the Crips was always among the most powerful, coming out on top after the many tribulations in seasons 1 and 2, but getting out of prison before the other leaders gave him an even bigger advantage. However,Mayor of Kingstownseason 3 introduced many challenges for Bunny, first with the damaged product brought into Anchor Bay by Sharon, then with the change in the AB leadership, supported by an external benefactor.

While Konstantin nor Callahan indicated their wish to attack Bunny or his operation, just their collaboration can mean more difficulties ahead for the Crips leader, even with Mike on his side. Their unexpected partnership thus makesMayor of Kingstownseason 3 the most interesting to date for the change in power among the gangs, possibly bringing forth the gang war anticipated since the prison riots.
