Its Release Date Hints At Horror
At the time of its July 28, 2025 release date being set, virtually nothing else is known about the newJordan Peele movie, including its title, plot, or cast. The film was previously dated for a release on August 17, 2025, which sparked speculation that Peele’s next project could be Christmas-themed. However, that was before the dual WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes upended studios' release calendars. As a result, Peele’s next movie was pulled from Universal’s release calendar and replaced with Robert Eggers’Nosferaturemake.
Following the delay, Peele briefly discussed his next film on theConan O’Brien Needs a Friendpodcast, saying it “could be [his] favorite movie if [he] makes it right.“It was previously speculated thatJordan Peele’s next moviecould be Christmas-themed, though its new release date should dispel that notion. By debuting on October 23, Peele’s next movie will release just in time for Halloween on October 31, which is only appropriate given the director’s propensity towards horror. However, this will be Peele’s first film released during spooky season.

Considering its Halloween release date, Peele’s next movie should once again fall into the horror genre and continue the director’s trademark of incorporating social commentary, often addressing issues involving race. With his next movie dated for October, Peele will have his first four films released during a different time of the year, starting with winter, spring, summer, and fall. No matter the time of the year,Jordan Peele’s next movie should be able to attract audiences to theaters based on his name and reputation alone.
