Joe Rogan accused of copyright striking YouTuber’s Elon Musk “cheating scandal” video
Speedrunning content creator Karl Jobst is accusing Joe Rogan of copyright striking his video about Elon Musk’s video game “cheating scandal.”
Karl Jobst is one of the biggest creators in YouTube’s speedrunning space, sharing videos documenting the hobby, cheating incidents, game history, and much more.

On February 28, Jobst uploaded a new video about the world’s richest man, Elon Musk, and the controversy over hisPath of Exile 2 and Diablo 4 accomplishments, and the SpaceX founder’s claims about being an elite Quake player.
However, the video, which has received nearly 1M views since being uploaded, was hit with a copyright claim, according to the YouTuber, and Jobst couldn’t help but call out the alleged culprit in a series if posts.

In a March 4 post on X,Jobstexplained that his entire video on Elon Musk’s video game scandal was copyright claimed by Joe Rogan.
“My entire Musk video was copyright claimed by Joe Rogan because I showed a 30 second clip of him talking about Quake,” he said. “Petty.”

In November 2024, Elon Muskappeared on the JRE podcastand began discussing their favorite video game memories when Quake came up.

“Way back in the day, I was one of the world’s best Quake players,” Musk claimed.
Jobst claims that this copyright claimwasn’t automatedand he was forced to remove the clip from the video.
This backlash got the attention of fellow YouTuber TheActMan, who voiced his frustration at the copyright claim.

Others urged Jobst to fight the claim, arguing that it falls under fair use. So far, Jobst hasn’t responded to the suggestions, and Joe Rogan hasn’t addressed the allegations of copyright striking the video.
