Japanese man’s new Ferrari bursts into flames an hour after buying it

A Japanese music producer by the name of Honkon saved his money for 10 years to buy his dream car, a Ferrari. Just an hour into owning the luxury ride, it burned to the ground.

The 33-year-old music producer spent over 10 years saving up for his dream car, a Ferrari 458 Spider. While he never revealed what year it was, the car was only available between 2011 and 2015 before it was replaced by the 458 Speciale.

It’s not cheap, either, as the car launched with a base MSRP of $249,000 in the United States and can go even higher depending on its exact spec.

After finally acquiring the car, Honkon took it for a ride around Tokyo’s Minato area. But tragedy struck when his car burst into flames only an hour after he got behind the wheel.

“My Ferrari burned to ashes an hour after delivery. I bet I’m the only one in all of Japan to experience this kind of trouble,” Honkon said in a post on X.

The driver revealed that he came out of the fire unscathed, but recalled the moment in a reply to one of his followers.

“I thought it was going to explode, and I was really scared,” he added.

Fans flocked to the comments to share their support for the music producer, with many sharing the same sentiment that they’re happy he’s okay.

The cause of the fire is unknown as of writing, but it’s clear that he wasn’t involved in an accident before it burst into flames.
