Is Mark dead? Severance Season 2 Episode 6 ending explained
Severance Season 2 Episode 6ends with Mark bearing the consequences of reintegration, and, as we’ve seen before, messing with the process can be fatal. Warning: spoilers ahead!
We really have just one other case to go from. As Mark remindsAsal Reghabi, Petey was the first to undergo the reintegration procedure, which sees a severed employee’sInnie and Outiemerged together.
And, well, we all know how that turned out. InSeverance Season 1, Petey experienced a whole host of dizzying hallucinations, coughing fits, and nosebleeds, followed by death.
Although Reghabi tries to reassure Mark that she knows what she’s doing, he experiences all of the same symptoms as Petey in Season 2 Episode 6, culminating in a devastating ending.
No, Mark isn’t dead, the most obvious reason being thatSeverance Season 3is in production and he’s the main character. There’s also the fact that there are numerous clips of Mark in theSeveranceSeason 2 trailer that we haven’t seen yet.
That being said, his health isn’t great right now – physical and mental. Earlier on in the latest episode, he sleeps with Helly (not Helena) at Lumon, and afterwards they share a passionate kiss. When they pull away, Mark’s having a nosebleed, clearly from reintegration.
AsMiss Huangchecks him over, his vision starts flickering between his Innie and Outie’s memories. Turns out, he’s not at the office at all; he’s actually in the basement, hooked up to the reintegration machine.

“That was another crossover memory,” says Reghabi. “A recent one, that’s good. You’ll feel gaps in time before it all comes together.”
But the whole ordeal’s left Mark feeling confused, and he starts coughing. Reghabi insists they need to speed up the process, saying they’ll “flood the chip itself” through the hole in his head.
Oh, there’s one problem: there’s a slight chance of haemorrhage (or, as Mark puts it, “bleeding to death). He’s had enough; he rips the wires off his head and goes to get some food as he’s “starving” (another symptom of reintegration).
However, he has a change of heart after atense meeting with Helena Eagan, and decides to go through with it. Reghabi injects a syringe of serum to surround the chip in his brain, and soon enough, it causes a series of crossover memories.
But it also creates an intense pain in his head. In a case of terrible timing, Devon pops round, and while they’re talking, Mark realizes he can’t hold his glass or water and he can smell something odd.
All of a sudden, he falls to the ground and has a fit, with white foam coming out of his mouth.
There’s no denying something bad is happening to him, and we can expect to see the fallout of this in Season 2 Episode 7. But rest assured, Mark isn’t dead.
