I don’t want to speak because Robert would be like, ‘Don’t tell people anything because we don’t know.’ But I have a feeling it’s probably going to be early next year.

Could Invincible Stick To A Yearly Schedule?

Kirkman Wants To Release A New Season Every Year

In previous comments, Kirkman mentioned that he hopes there will bea new season ofInvincibleevery year, making early 2025 forInvincibleseason 3line up with that plan. Although the franchise creator acknowledged that sticking within the yearly timeframe could be difficult, he stressed the importance of avoiding the long gap that occurred between the first two seasons. Kirkman also addressed other popular series that have had to take long breaks, citingStranger ThingsandHouse of the Dragon, and touched on unavoidable delays brought on by the pandemic.

Some of the delays that the Prime Video seriesfaced ultimately circle back to the medium of animation itself, whichInvincibleseason 2 acknowledged in one of the show’s funnier moments. A character (voiced byI Think You Should Leave’s Tim Robinson) explains to Mark all the tricks and tweaks that can be done in animation to speed the process along, making a bit of a winking reference to the complaints that the adaptation has faced.

Invincible Season 2 Hilariously Mocks Its Own Release Delays & Animation

Invincible season 2, episode 7 features a scene set at a comic convention, with this scene containing one of the show’s best meta jokes.

Some of the most popular streaming shows, includingThe BearandOnly Murders in the Building, have been able to stick to a yearly schedule that echoes what is common in broadcast television. Even if an exact premiere date can’t be maintained, a general and reliable release plan would do a lot to help the comic book adaptation considering the increasing intricacies of its storylines and the growingInvinciblecast. The latest update from Marquand stands out as a positive in that sense.
