There is a new expansion inDestiny 2called The Final Shape, and in the Echoes activity players can now play the Enigma Protocol. It is an echo back to theSeason of the Splicer eventa couple years ago, and the Enigma Protocol is specifically for three players to complete and enjoy. It is also on a timer, so youhave to complete it before that timer runs out. This can make it fairly challenging and it is helpful to know the ins and outs ahead of time to make a successful run.
WithThe Final ShapeinDestiny 2being released, there are a lot of fun new items, missions, and activities for players to enjoy. The Enigma Protocol is thefirst Echo in Act 1that you will be able to run until the act is over. But there are afew steps you will have to take to start the Enigma Protocol activity.

How To Get Strange Coins in Destiny 2 (The Final Shape)
Strange Coins have been revamped in Destiny 2 with the release of The Final Shape. They are no longer obtained from Dares of Eternity.
Unlocking The Enigma Protocol
The Failsafe
This episode has aprimary vendor named Failsafe, and you will have to complete tasks for them to unlock the various Echoes. There is an introductory mission that will load automatically after you have finished the main campaign ofThe Final Shapeanddefeated the Witness inDestiny 2. You will also have to complete at leastone run of the Breach Executable activitybefore returning to the Failsafe.
You will have anew quest called Encoded Logthat will take you to the Well of Echoes location. Following this quest will take you through The Tangle and you will have to fight a Minotaur. After the room is clear a hole will open in the group and you should jump into it, following the tunnels until you reach a mission flag. This missionflag will allow you to start the Enigma Protocol.

After this point you can alwaysuse the HELM screen to start the Enigma Protocol Quest, so you do not have to go through these steps every time.
Understanding The Enigma Protocol
Flight Not Fight
The Engima Protocol is athree-person activitywhere you are racing the clock more than fighting enemies. It is mostly a platforming activity with an occasional fight thrown in. When the fights do occur, there is always anobjective to complete that matters more than killing the enemies.
You can make the runs withless than three players, butit will make it much more difficult to stay down on the time.

The timer is themost important bitof the puzzle. It will start at one minute and count down from there. The landscape around you will turn red when it is under a minute, which is how you know you are running out of time. There are two ways to extend your timer, both of which willgive you an extra 30 seconds:
It will be helpful to bringweapons inDestiny 2thatcan be used at a distance, making it easier to hit the yellow diamonds and kill enemies if needed. Typically, ignore additional enemies and focus on the objectives so that you do not run out of time. Make sure you and your other two teammates are aboutat the 2000 or higher power level, as anything less will make the mission very difficult.

Running The Enigma Protocol
Multiple Loot Chests
You will havetwo main sections of the activity, each of which will have a loot chest at the end. You will have a series of platforming sections and arena objectives intermixed before arriving at a loot chest, at which point you can either keep going to the second loot chest or start the activity over. If you choose to carry on, you willhave to face a Vex Minotaur, aboss inDestiny 2, before getting a better loot chest.
If you want to reset the mission, choose toactivate the Force Reboot Network Instance button, otherwise jump into the portal to keep going. The loot chests are primarily a source for you to earn Season of Dawn weapons, but there is also arare emblemfor you to find as an incentive to keep making more runs.

Encounters In The Enigma Protocol
A Set Pattern
In Act I, it seems like most of the encounters are thesame each time as you go through The Enigma Protocol. This makes sense as it allows you to increase your speed each time as you get to know each encounter. To see someone make the full run, check outYouTuber Esoterickk in the videoabove. Below is a table containing the encounters and some information about each of them:
When you have cleared all the yellow diamonds in a particular encounter you will receive a message that says Zone Security Cleared! There are usually three yellow diamonds per encounter.
Notes
Networked Grid 1
A platforming section where you will want to get to the far side and enter a portal.
Experimental Grid 1
The objective arena where one of you must grab the orange ball and charge it to full power, which can be done in walls of light. Complete the objective once it’s charged by dropping it in the receptacle in the center of the room.
Networked Grid 2
This is a platforming section but more twisting and turning than before. Check corners and around walls for the next path point if it is not obvious.
Experimental Grid 2
Activate the Vex Portal by killing the Goblins to get more orange balls and throw that at the floating Harpies to destroy them.
Bridge 1
A platforming section with a sparrow track. Shoot the silver diamond to create the sparrow track and hop on. It will take you automatically, but keep an eye out to shoot at yellow diamonds.
Archival Grid 1
A break from the rush, the first loot chest is in this room, along with the two options to continue.
Networked Grid 4
Another platforming run, but this one is littered with enemies you will have to destroy or run past.
Experimental Grid 3
Shoot the bubbles to drop pink Motes of Encrypted Golden Age Data.
Networked Grid 3
This is a longer platforming section with enemies in your way, gaps, and very narrow pathways. Note, this one is numbered out of numerical order in the game.
Experimental Grid 4
The only actual boss fight in the group, fight off a Vex minotaur boss named Ainigmatos, The Indecipherable Proto-Mind. Once defeated, immediately jump into the portal that appears to finish the run.
Bridge 2
Jump onto the sparrow track and ride it down automatically again.
Archival Grid 2
This is the second loot chest room and the end of The Enigma Protocol.
Once you have finished your run, you cancollect your loot and choose to be done or try another runfor even more loot. With more practice you can improve on your time and try to get the best run possible and win the best loot in The Enigma Protocol inDestiny 2.
