Summary

Giancarlo Esposito, who is set to join theMarvel Cinematic Universe, continues to tease his secret character who is already being lined up for bigger things to come. AsThe Multiverse Sagais still happening, the latest MCU storyline is almost halfway through its current arc. With new characters joining the mix, it is paving the way for fresh blood to join the MCU, as several actors have boarded the franchise over the last few years.

As Esposito revealed previously that he had been tapped for a mystery role in the MCU, the actor has now given another clue about what he is doing with Marvel Studios. At this year’s Phoenix Fan Fusion event, Esposito (viaLegion of Sand) teased that not only is it for a role"you won’t predict,“but his character will also be lined up for an MCU TV show, as he said the following:

The MCU has knocked on my door and it’s a role you won’t predict. It will be teased and there will be a series afterwards.

While Esposito is continuing to talk about his upcoming MCU gig,Marvel Studios and Disney have yet to announce his involvement with the franchise. A later announcement may be coming, perhaps at a big event like San Diego Comic-Con, where Kevin Feige might make it official.

Every Upcoming Marvel Movie: Full MCU Phase 6 List (& Beyond)

With Marvel Studios' MCU now dominating the upcoming release slate for Marvel movies, here’s what to expect in the coming years and beyond.

Who Could Giancarlo Esposito Be Playing In The MCU?

With an endless list of characters that exist in the Marvel canon, there are a number of exciting options for Esposito in the MCU. One of the biggest roles that Esposito could take on is Kang the Conqueror, followingthe firing of Jonathan Majorsearlier this year. Given how Marvel Studios hasn’t flat out said that they are writing Kang out of the franchise, it is presumed that he will continue being the big bad of The Multiverse Saga.

However, during the same panel that Esposito attended, Victor von Doom, a.k.a. Doctor Doom as part ofThe Fantastic Fourcast, was mentioned by an attendee. While Esposito didn’t confirm nor deny it,he stressed “about talking it into existence, and making yourself believe in it.“To this point, it hasn’t been reported whether Doctor Doom is sitting out of the upcoming MCU reboot for Marvel’s First Family.

If Esposito joins the MCU as Victor,he could potentially have a small role inThe Fantastic Fouras a setupthat could then directly lead into aDoctor Doomshow on Disney+. Even if he is being tapped as the new Kang, Esposito could pop up in one of the many upcoming MCU movies before having a solo series that will re-establish the villain before he takes the spotlight again towards the end of Phase 6. Hopefully, more clues about Esposito’s mysteriousMCUcharacter will be revealed sooner rather than later.
