Game-breaking Monster Hunter Wilds bug completely halts story
Monster Hunter Wilds players are being left stuck as one vital NPC hasn’t been respawning in a certain campaign mission.
Monster Hunter Wildshas had an impressive launch, managing to amass aplayer countof over one million concurrent right out of the gate on PC alone, quickly catapulting itself intoone of the most played in Steam history.

That said, it’s no secret that the game isn’t without issues. Whether that’s related to performance or the‘something went wrong’ errorpreventing the game from booting up, the experience isn’t always smooth for every single player.
Aside from all this, however, there’s now one devastating bug rearing its head. This issue is related to an NPC that essentially blocks players’ progress in the game if you’re unlucky.

In Wilds, stories and monsters are introduced throughout a plethora of different main quests. The problem lies in the 5-2: A World Turned Upside Down (Hunter Rank 34) quest, in which an important NPC isn’t spawning where they should be.
As such, many players have reported that they’re unable to continue the quest, leaving them stuck. Devs have noticed this issue and have since posted anupdate on X.

“Hunters, we are currently investigating the following issue. There may be cases where an NPC does not appear, disabling story progression in Main Mission: Chapter 5-2 A World Turned Upside Down,” they wrote.
Though no exact date or time has been shared yet, they’ve made it clear that they’re working to fix this and will provide further updates once they’re available.

So far, players haveclaimedthey’ve tried several methods in an attempt to spawn the NPC, like reinstalling and verifying the game, but to no luck.
