How Creature Commandos' Release Window Fits In The DCU Slate
The DCU Has Many Projects Announced
Creature Commandosconsists of seven episodes, all written and directed by Gunn. If the series has a weekly release model, the DCU’s first project could be wrapping up in either January or February of the next year, depending on what week of December the first episode of the series debuts. At the latest, a February date forCreature Commandos' finale would put the end of the show five months before the next DCU project.
That would be Gunn’s Superman reboot movie with David Corenswet playing the Man of Steel. At the Annecy Festival, it was revealed that characters fromCreature Commandoswould appear in Superman, though no specific players were mentioned. The DCU Superman reboot andPeacemakerseason 2 are currently filming. WithSupermanbeing the next project in line afterCreature Commandos, John Cena’s Peacemaker should come back right after the DCU’s first movie, and a late 2025 release forPeacemakerseason 2 seems the most likely for the TV-MA series.

Gunn previously revealed that more DCU projects will start filming before the end of the year, with one of them being connected to Gunn’sSuperman. Clark Kent’s cousin, Kara Zor-El, will be the next main character to have a project start filming this year, as DC plans to start production onSupergirl: Woman of Tomorrowin the fall. However, the Supergirl film will only arrive in 2026. Currently, no other releases are confirmed for 2025 other thanSuperman, so fans better make the most out of the DCU whenCreature Commandosdebuts in December.
