Catwoman’s absence in The Batman 2 could pave way for new iconic hero
A new rumor has surfaced that Zoë Kravitz won’t be returning as Catwoman inThe Batman Part 2, and while this would be a disappointing outcome, her absence could pave the way for another iconic sidekick to debut.
Right now, all eyes are on the future ofBatmanand whether or not Robert Pattinson’s caped crusader could (or should) crossover to the rebootedDCU.

While the answer is still up for debate, one thing is certain:Matt Reeves’ The Batmansequel is taking shape. The script has been handed in and Gunn says “it’s great,” but Catwoman might be missing.
The Batman 2 rumor sparks speculation about Robin debut
Hollywood insider Jeff Sneider has said he heard Zoë Kravitz’s reps told press not to ask her questions about The Batman 2 as “she’s not in it” – and as host John Rocha points out, there could be “space for Robin.”
Sneider made the comments on the latest episode ofThe Hot Micpodcast, saying that he heard from a reporter at a junket for Caught Stealing, Darren Aronofsky’s new movie starring Kravitz and Austin Butler.
“One of my spies was doing interviews at this junket, and apparently the representatives for Zoë Kravitz or whatever instructed the press, ‘Don’t ask Zoë any questions aboutThe Batman Part 2. She’s not in it and she doesn’t know anything.’”

Sneider then stressed that he’s not reporting on this as a scoop but rather passing the message along, but it’s an interesting claim nonetheless.
As Rocha stated, “If you remove a Catwoman, it seems like there’s a space for aRobinor someone there to help the Batman, because she helped the Batman in the first movie. It feels like someone could be sliding in there to take that spot.”
Even though it’s long been speculated that Batman’s sidekick could make his debut in the Elseworlds universe, Gunn has explicitly said the Robin rumors are untrue.
OnThreadsearlier this month, theSupermanhelmer wrote, “Guys please stop believing this nonsense. I think six of us have read the script. No one knows anything about The Batman 2.”
There’s also the fact that in Gunn’s rebooted DCU, The Brave and the Bold is set to introduce Damian Wayne – Bruce’s biological son and one of the more violent iterations of Robin.
That makes the prospect of Reeves introducing his own version of the sidekick more complex, since audiences could end up with two very different or even similar Robins on the big screen at the same time.
Plus, Robin seems to be at odds with Reeve’s grittier take on Gotham, leaving many fans convinced that it wouldn’t make sense for him to join The Batman 2.
“I don’t think there’s a Robin in The Batman 2. I just can’t picture a young kid going out and fighting crime with Batman in that world,”wroteone fan on X/Twitter.
“They’d have to age him up significantly for it to be remotely believable. I personally don’t want a Robin in that world. Leave Robin for the DCU.”
Others think it would only work if the two worlds merge. “So having two Batmen which is already a tough pill to swallow for a lot AND having it be that both have Robins. Yeah that would suck,” said another.
“If Reeves is gonna do Robin then they’ll have to find a way to merge or wait until he’s finished, and let’s be real he was there first.”
A thirdadded, “If Robin is in The Batman 2 they have to make him the DCU Batman or DCU Batman has to be Dick Grayson under the cowl.”
