In the wake ofBlood Hunt,Captain Americais recruiting a new team ofAvengersdesigned to tackle the biggest threats. Coming later this summer,Avengers Assemblewill bring together a diverse group of heroes, some joining the team for the first time. Underthe leadership of Captain America Steve Rogers, this new Avengers squad promises to be the most exciting and dynamic Avengers title yet.
As reported onMarvel’swebsite,Avengers Assemble, which will be written by Steve Orlando and drawn by Cory Smith,spins out ofBlood Hunt.In that event, Captain America put out a call for volunteer Avengers to handle the vampire crisis. In the aftermath, Captain America realized the need for a squad with greater reach and scope, and thus created the Avengers Emergency Response Squad.
Joining Cap will be Avengers stalwarts Wonder Man, Hawkeye, Photon and Wasp, along with new recruits Night Thrasher, Shang-Chi, Lightning and Julie Power, from Power Pack.
