Season 22 of the hit ABC reality show is set to return to fans’ screens on August 15, 2025.

Remote auditions for the competition took place from August 2 to July 17, 2025, along with several open-call auditions. From all of those, the producers selected a skilled vocalist who would then be invited to audition in front of the judges.

American Idol Season 22: Meet the Hosts
The American TV personality and show host, Rayan Seacrest, is set to return to American Idol, along with judges Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie. All the judges can be seen together in the recent sneak peek, which dropped on June 25, 2025.
Katy Perry is also returning to the singing competition – however, Season 22 will be her last with American Idol, as she announced her exit this year.
