Summary
Venom: The Last Dancecould very well be the last true chance for some version of Peter Parker to interact with Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock. Confirmed to be the last film featuring the titular anti-hero set in Sony’s Spider-Man universe, the symbiotic Lethal Protector has yet to clash with the iconic Webslinger. That said, perhaps that could all change with this culminating chapter of theVenomtrilogy.
Beginning with 2018’sVenom,Tom Hardy has played both Eddie Brock and the alien symbiotewho became his unlikely partner. Based on the classic Marvel Comics character, Venom is most commonly associated as a villain turned anti-hero who has frequently fought and joined forces with Spider-Man, the Venom symbiote’s original human host in the original comics. To that end, here are 8 ways in which some version of Peter Parker might be featured inVenom: The Last Dance.

Every Upcoming Marvel Movie: Full MCU Phase 6 List (& Beyond)
With Marvel Studios' MCU now dominating the upcoming release slate for Marvel movies, here’s what to expect in the coming years and beyond.
Venom Could Travel Back To The MCU And Face Tom Holland’s Spider-Man
He’s Already Been There Once
Having been teased inVenom: Let There Be Carnage’spost-credits, an encounter between Venom and the MCU’s Spider-Man (Tom Holland) was teased. However, Eddie Brock and Venom’s time in the MCU proved to be quite uneventful and short-lived. Although he was inadvertently transported to the MCU alongside other villains from other realities thanks to Doctor Strange’s botched spell inSpider-Man: No Way Home, Eddie Brock was in Mexico the entire time, getting drunk before being sent back to the Sony universe right when he had thoughts about finding and meeting Spider-Man.
Despite being pulled back to his home reality, perhaps Venom could make his way back to the MCU forThe Last Dance. After all, a piece of the symbiote was left behind in the MCU before he left. This could establish a continued link to the MCU, one that could lead to Venom and Spider-Man finally clashing for the first time on-screen since 2007’sSpider-Man 3with Tobey Maguire’s Peter Parker.

Venom’s Peter Parker Could Be Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man
Same Universe As The Amazing Spider-Man Movies?
Sony has remained committed to being noncommittal about which Spider-Man exists in their universe that’s connected yet still independent of the MCU. While theVenommovies andMorbiusboth have their ties and references to Spider-Man, Peter Parker has yet to truly make an appearance in Sony’s universe. As such,a prevailing theory is that Sony’s universe could also be the home of Andrew Garfield’s Peter Parker fromThe Amazing Spider-Manmovies.
Having preceded Tom Holland and his Spider-Man role in the MCU,The Amazing Spider-Manmovies certainly left Andrew Garfield dealing with intense loss and grief. To that end, an encounter with the Venom symbiote could prove to be quite dangerous if Garfield’s Parker and his movies are indeed set in the same reality as theVenommovies. It would certainly be exciting ifGarfield’s Spider-Man found himself at risk of a dark Venom-infused corruption arc, effectively giving him a version of his very own Symbiote Saga.

Venom Could Encounter Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man
It Wouldn’t Be His First Symbiote Brawl
In the same vein, Tobey Maguire’s Peter Parker certainly has his own chances of being featured inThe Last Dancejust as much as Garfield or Holland. He’s also had the most and only experience dealing with a version of Venom. Having ditched the symbiote that first came to him as it did in the comics before coming to recognize its corruptive nature inSpider-Man 3,the Venom symbiote bonded with Maguire’s Peter Parker before ultimately bonding with Topher Grace’s Eddie Brock.
By all accounts,Spider-Man 3was not very well-received and has still been widely panned. That said, it would still be interesting to see Tobey Maguire’s Peter Parker getting another shot at fighting Venom nonetheless. Although the odds are low, the more-experienced Spider-Man played by Maguire could offer a unique take on Sony’s newest version of the Venom symbiote on the big screen.
Venom 3 Could Feature Madame Web’s Version Of Peter Parker
Peter Parker As A Kid?
While connections to other movies and an established Spider-Man were ultimately cut,Sony’sMadame Webstill debuted a version of Peter Parker. Working as an EMT, Dakota Johnson’s Cassandra Webb had a partner who was none other than a young Ben Parker played by Adam Scott. Likewise, Emma Roberts plays a pregnant Mary Parker inMadame Web, Ben’s sister who ultimately gives birth to a son by the film’s end.
Sony’sMadame Webis set in the year 2002, while theVenommovies are set in the present day.As such, it’s not out of the possibility to suggest that Eddie Brock’s Venom could encounter a grown-up version of Peter Parker who was born 22 years prior inMadame Web. However, this is under the assumption thatMadame Webis part of the same reality as theVenomtrilogy,Morbius, and the upcomingKraven the Huntermovie set to release in December 2024.
Venom: The Last Dance Explained: Everything We Know So Far
The last hint of Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock and Venom came in a mid-credits scene in Spider-Man: No Way Home, and now they’re both returning for Venom 3.
Venom And Eddie Could Travel The Spider-Verse
Traveling Various Realities Featuring Spider-Man
It’s also possible that Venom himself could end up traveling the multiverse inThe Last Dance. This would allow him to encounter multiple versions of both Venom and perhaps even Peter Parker. After all,it’s already been confirmed that Venom and Eddie’s universe is part of the greater Spider-Verse thanks to 2023’sSpider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse.
InAcross the Spider-Verse, Spot’s experimentation with his powers results in his ability to travel the multiverse at will as a trans-dimensional being. This includes visiting a LEGO universe as well as Venom’s reality where Spot encounters Mrs. Chen, the owner of the convenience store Eddie and Venom often frequent. As such, this further establishes that Venom’s reality is part of the interconnected Great Web of Life and Destiny, meaning that it’s technically possible for Eddie and his Other to travel to other realities, just like they did inNo Way Home.
Tom Holland’s Peter Parker Could End Up In Venom’s Universe
Who Says The MCU Webslinger Can’t Visit Other Realities?
In the same vein, it’s also possible that Tom Holland’s Spider-Man could travel to other realities himself, including Venom’s. At the moment, every other predominant movie Spider-Man has traveled the multiverse at this point except the MCU’s. Miles Morales has interacted with other Spider-heroes from different realities and has also visited their realities in theSpider-Versefilms. Likewise, both Maguire and Garfield’s Spider-Men came to the MCU as seen inNo Way Home.
Excluding the parallel pocket Mirror Dimension during his battle with Doctor Strange, Tom Holland’s Spider-Man is the odd one out. Keeping that in mind, perhaps the time has finally come for Peter Parker to be inadvertently transported to another reality in the near future. One can only hope that Venom’s reality is the destination, providing fans with the long-hoped “Battle of the Toms” between Holland’s Spider-Man and Hardy’s Venom.
Peter Parker Could Appear Via The Symbiote Hive Mind
Black Suit Spider-Man?
It’s also worth remembering that the Venom symbiote tells Eddie at the end ofLet There Be Carnagethat he’s connected to the greater symbiote hivemind, possessing 80 billion years of “hive” knowledge that spans across universes. The symbiote also mentions elements of their past that they’d been keeping hidden from Eddie, while also seemingly recognizing Spider-Man on TV after they were involuntarily sent to the MCU ahead of the events ofNo Way Home. While Eddie and Venom haven’t yet encountered any Spider-Man, it stands to reason that other symbioses across the multiverse Venom’s connected to have.
In Sony’s universe, Hardy’s Eddie Brock is the Venom symbiote’s first host. However, that’s not necessarily the case in other realities. As such, perhaps Venom and Eddie will encounter a version of Peter Parker who’s still bonded to their Venom symbiote, just as Spider-Man was in the comics as the very first Venom host on the page. It would certainly be exciting ifThe Last Dancefurther explores the symbiote hivemind, resulting in an encounter with a black-suited Symbiote Spider-Man.
Venom Could Introduce An Entirely New Peter Parker
Unlikely But Still Possible
It’s also technically possible thatVenom: The Last Dancecould be the film where Sony decides to introduce a brand-new Peter Parker/Spider-Man.Putting asideMadame Web’sbaby Peter Parker which might not even be connected to Sony’s other movies, the opportunity to introduce a new actor in the role of Peter Parker inThe Last Dancewould certainly be a bold choice. That said, it would finally give Sony the Spider-Man that’s clearly been missing in “Sony’s Spider-Man Universe”, one who could encounter Venom in some fashion.
It would certainly be odd to not use one of the existing live-action Spider-Men whom the audiences have been begging to see more of, especially after the major blockbuster event that wasSpider-Man: No Way Home. Sony has certainly earned itself the reputation for being unorthodox in its universe creation, often making very confusing decisions that have been met with quite a bit of criticism from fans over the years. However, perhaps audiences will be more forgiving if it means Venom can finally face Spider-Man in his final movie.
